Min Sammy Lynn Burnett was born on July 26, 1946, to the late Rev. Fred Burnett Sr. and Fannie Burnett. He departed this life on January 5, 2023. Min. Sammy was a loving son, husband, father and friend who always put others first.
Sammy was a graduate of Evan E. Worthing High School Class of 1964. He worked as a Welder for Hughes Tool Company for 24 years and later retired from Stewart & Stevenson in 2006. He loved fishing, working with his hands building things and he dedicated his life to helping others.
On August 27, 1975, he married the love of his life, Alice Washington. To this union no children were born, however they shared a blended family with ten children. All who knew Sammy and Alice were aware of their undying love for each other.
Min. Sammy accepted Christ at an early age and was actively involved in his church, Crossroads Community Church of Pearland under the leadership of Pastor Christopher F. Hartwell, Euogist/Officiant. He lived a life that glorified God.
Min. Sammy was proceeded in death by both his parents Rev. Fred Burnett Sr. and Fannie Burnett, his brother Fred Burnett Jr, and his sisters, Margurite Hopson (Rayfield) and Marilyn White.
On January 5, 2023, Sammy transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Alice Burnett, four children: Sammy Burnett Jr. (Fachon), Byron Burnett (Monica), Allen Burnett (Rosa) and Rod Burnett (Vonda), Rhonda Blair (Tracie), Wanda Mayon, Craig Mayon, Cheryl Randall (Jessie), two brothers, Earnest Burnett (Maxine), El Jerry Burnett, his sister, Georgia Bonner (Wilbert) and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom loved him dearly.
